Tigard Walks!

With the City Council’s recent adoption of a Strategic Plan to make Tigard the most walkable city in the Pacific NW where people of all ages and abilities enjoy healthy and interconnected lives, residents and staff are invited to join a new series of non-competitive walks designed to get out and tour our city!

The first walk of the year (rain or shine!) will be on Thursday, January 1 - New Year’s Day at 11 a.m. in Cook Park. There are two different walks to choose from (short and medium-length, both are paved, easy to walk).  Pick up a route map at the shelter by the volleyball court at Cook Park (17005 SW 92nd Avenue) and join the walk!  There’s plenty of parking if you’re driving in to join the walk.

Whether you’re a seasoned walker or new to this activity, everyone is welcome.  Meet new people and enjoy the camaraderie experienced in a walking group - build confidence, reduce stress/ improve sleep and see the city from a pedestrian’s point of view. Teams build community!

Participants walk at their own risk - if you have doubts about participating check with your doctor.

Bring your family, friends and neighbors! Get your walk in before the Rose Bowl kick-off at 2 p.m.!
