More about the Hunziker Industrial Core

Tigard just received a strong boost its economic development efforts with support from the State Legislature and Rep. Margaret Dougherty. We were notified late Monday that our request to the State of Oregon for $1.5 million in infrastructure funding was added to the state’s capital project bonding authority list.

This is the first time the City of Tigard has sought state support for an economic development project. This year, lawmakers sifted through $400 million in funding requests, and ended up funding just $180 million in capital projects.  The $1.5 million of state funding committed to Tigard will help cover part of the cost of $5.5 million in new infrastructure in the Hunziker Industrial Corridor. This is an underdeveloped part of the city’s employment lands currently home to about 90 firms on 138 acres of industrial property.

Through our economic development program, the City of Tigard is investing in infrastructure to support private sector investment, business growth and job creation. Details provided in the attached press release. Please give me a call if you have any questions.
