IRS Tax Forms at the Library

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sent a limited number of tax forms to libraries this year and no instruction booklets because of Congressional cuts to the 2015 budget. The Tigard Library has received 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ forms.

In cooperation with AARP, the Tigard Library is once again offering tax help Fridays-Sundays until Sunday, April 12.  All appointments are currently filled through Sunday, March 6.  Call the Reference Desk at 503-718-2517 to make an appointment.

The library will make available copies of some forms that are most in demand such as Itemized Deductions(Schedule A), Capital Gains and Losses(Schedule D) and Interest and Ordinary Dividends(Schedule B).  People may make photocopies of other forms from the library’s master file or print them off the Web at www.irs.gov/forms at 10 cents a page.

They may also call the IRS at 1-800-829-3676 for a mailed copy.  The state of Oregon has not provided state forms for several years. For more tax information people can log onto http://www.wccls.org/taxhelp
