Tour de Parks

The Washington County Bicycle Transportation Coalition and the Tigard Ped/Bike Advisory Committee, with a grant from the City of Tigard and in partnership with the Tigard Downtown Alliance, present the Tour de Parks in Tigard On September 12 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.   This year’s event happens just before the Tigard Street Fair. There’s also a Tigard Walks walking event at 10 a.m. that starts at the TriMet Park and Ride lot.  Now you can ride (or walk) in the morning, and en joy food, music, booths, and fun activities the rest of the day, and since there will be an attended bike parking corral, you can leave your bike and know it is safe (bring your own lock).

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 12 for three free, family fun events!

2015 Tigard Tour de Parks
·       Registration and start:  Parking lot on corner of Burnham and Hall, next to the Skate Park.
·       Registration opens: 9am
·       Tiny Tots Ride: 9:30-10am
·       Tour de Parks- 10am- noon
·       Free Bike parking available at finish line, 11am-5:15pm

NOTE: Roads will not be closed for this event. Also, children 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the ride. Registration for all rides opens at 9:00 AM.

Don't own a bike? Join Tigard Walks www.tigard-or.gov/tigardwalks at 10 a.m. at the TriMet Park n' Ride lot entrance to traverse a route around downtown and finish up in time to enjoy the street fair opening at 11 a.m.

The Tigard Street Fair will run from 11am-5pm on Main Street in Tigard. There will be food, music, a beer garden, and fun things for the kids (and the parents!).

Tigard Residents get a freebie from the Washington Co. Museum

October is Tigard Month at the Washington County Museum

The Washington County Museum (WCM) is reaching out to city residents to ignite the imagination and bring to life the diverse cultures that richly define this remarkable region.

If you’ve never visited the museum, here’s a perfect opportunity to go!  Tigard will be celebrated and featured in October.  There are several opportunities for Tigard residents with identification:
·       FREE ADMISSION to the WCM on Saturday, October 17, 2015
·       ½ - OFF ADMISSION to WCM throughout the month of October 2015
·       Tigard artifacts on special display in WCM throughout October
·       Special online display of historic Tigard images
·       FREE and discounted outreach programs during October for Tigard groups, such as senior centers, service clubs and other community organizations.
