Tree Lighting Ceremony, Dec. 2, Downtown Tigard

Everyone is invited to downtown Tigard’s annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony at Liberty Park, at the north end of Main Street, on Dec. 2, at 6:45 p.m. Crowds will gather at the Rite Aid parking lot, on 12080 SW Main St.

The lighting ceremony will take place at Liberty Park, home to the gateway art installation and a large evergreen that is lit every year as a beacon of good will to the community. The park is located at the corners of SW Main and Pacific Highway.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus also will be joining the festivities. Santa will meet with children when the activities move indoors from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at 12215 SW Main St. All of the details can be found in the attached release. You can also check for information on this event page.

City Holiday Observances in November: Veterans Day, Thanksgiving

The Tigard Public Library will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, on Nov. 11. City Hall is also closed that day. Normal hours at the Library resume on Nov. 12. City Hall reopens for business on Nov. 14.

City Hall and the Library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, which falls on Nov. 24.
